Shell Global Solutions OEM Technical Manager Karin Haumann recently spoke with Seth Sykdel from Fleet
Maintenance to discuss ways drivers can improve their efficiency on the road. Haumann says that “using full
synthetic or synthetic blend engine oils can provide the performance and protection benefits because they
will perform extremely well in heavy-duty diesel engines.” Additionally, Haumann states that implementing “a
consistent oil analysis program can also assist in optimizing drain intervals, increasing equipment
